Summer 2025: Level Up At Your Library
Play is one of the ways we learn to relate to others, to think in new ways, and to foster friendships, new and old. Level Up at Your Library is an all ages summer reading program based around puzzles and games. Whether you’re playing with STEM concepts or gamifying your reading logs, learning to play chess or how to code video games, Level Up at Your Library reminds us that libraries are not just a space for knowledge, they are a space for fun! Adult Summer Reading Program (June, July, and August): To participate, visit Beanstack to sign up. Adult readers will log the number of minutes read or listened to each day. If you read or listen to at least 100 minutes of content checked out from Beaman Library or Libby this summer, you will be entered in an end-of-challenge prize drawing. And, more minutes read translates into more drawing entries. Prizes include gift certificates to local dining establishments. Teen Summer Reading Program (June 17 through August 22): To participate, visit Beanstack to sign up. For every 100 minutes read and logged teens will earn a new Beanstack badge and be awarded a raffle ticket to use in the end-of-challenge drawings for prizes. Teens can also earn extra raffle tickets by reading Massachusetts Teen Choice Book Award Nominees read and chatting with the Teen Librarian about their current read. And, if readers complete the challenge by reading 5,000 minutes, they will receive 10 extra raffle tickets and a book of their choice! Kids Summer Reading Program (June 24 through August 15): To participate, visit Beanstack to sign up OR visit the Library to request a paper tracker. This year, kids will record the number of minutes read and earn tickets to be used towards different prizes. Kids can also earn Reading Dragon playing cards while they read too. Thank you to the Friend of the Beaman Library for sponsoring this summer-long event. The Massachusetts Statewide Summer Library Program is funded by the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
