The Children's Summer Reading Program will occur between June 22 and August 10. Begin logging your library books and activities by visiting Beanstack or by clicking on the tortoise and hare. Create your account and then register for the Summer 2021: Tails and Tales for Kids challenge. There are descriptions of the prizes in Beanstack and you can divide up your virtual “tickets” any way you choose! Stop in the Library to get a bookmark and new books to read.
It is also the start of our weekly Take It, Make It Tuesdays. Craft kits will be available in our Newton Street vestibule on a first-come, first-served basis. However, if you intend to participate weekly, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with 'Take It, Make It Tuesdays' in the subject line to reserve a weekly bag!
You can also play Beaman BINGO for additional chances to win prizes! Print the BINGO game board here or from the Beaman Library Children's Room Facebook page. The board has a variety of books to read based on the Tails and Tales summer reading theme. Complete the board with a BINGO in any direction, bring it into the Library and we will add your name to a special drawing. The more you read, the better your chances of winning!
If you are unfamiliar with Beanstack, watch this tutorial to learn how to create a Beanstack account and enroll in the different reading challenges.
This year, the Library will host a number of programs both virtually and outdoors, as weather permits. To view the many programs that will be offered, including book discussion groups, crafts and classes, visit the Library's Event Calendar or The Children's Room page. Descriptions of each program, as well as instructions regarding sign-up can be found in each of these locations. We are looking forward to seeing you this summer!
Thank you to the Friends of the Beaman Library for sponsoring this summer-long event!
