A new reading challenge has been launched just for teens - to read 100 books before graduation! Visit Beaman Library’s Beanstack page to register. Earn a new set of badges along the way. Life has been pretty stressful; sometimes emotions can get out of hand but mindful practices can help. Fortunately, Dr. Andrew Linscott is able to teach you simple meditation techniques to de-escalate tension, reduce anxiety, and de-stress. This program is perfect for school-aged children, teens, and adults. Please email ssmith@cwmars.org with 'Andy' in the subject line if you would like to attend.

Bath Bombs
Wednesday, May 18 at 4:30 p.m.
Make a fizzy bath bomb! All of the materials needed to make this craft will be provided. When complete, take the bath bomb home and pamper yourself. Please email jwright@cwmars.org at least 24 hours prior to this program to register.

Book Launch & Beaman Library Fundraiser! - In Personbee.png
Saturday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. 
Join West Boylston resident and writer Loree Griffin Burns as she launches her newest book for children with a library fundraising book extravaganza! Honeybee Rescue: A Backyard Drama tells the story of beekeeper John Connery and a colony of honeybees that moved out of his backyard hive box and into his ramshackle garage. This is a backyard drama you don’t want to miss. Join us to hear more about it! Copies of the book, filled with eye-popping images by local photographer Ellen Harasimowicz, will be available for sale and signing after the event (only cash and check accepted for payment). All proceeds will benefit Beaman Library. Please email  beaman@cwmars.org at least 24 hours prior to this program to register.

Post-It Note Art

Stop by the Teen Space, grab a Post-it note, and create a tiny piece of art with the materials provided. When you are done, add it to our ‘sticky’ display!

Creepy Campfire
Thursday, June 2 at 4:00 p.m.
Ghost stories around the fire are the ultimate camp experience. Join Jessica for a creepy campfire; share spooky stories around our indoor ‘blaze’ and enjoy some s'mores outside afterwards!

Pollinators and Pollinator Gardens
Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. 
Join Kathryn from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation to learn how to identify some native plants and pollinators so that you can join the movement to attract pollinators to your own backyard. Teens and adults are welcome at this event.

Macramé Coasters
Wednesday, June 8 at 4:00 p.m.
Learn the art of macramé, a method of creating textiles by tying knots. All of the materials needed to create a coaster that you can take home with you will be provided.

Hand Sewing for Beginners
Wednesday, June 15 at 5:30 p.m.
During this two-hour workshop, Michelle will teach the basics of hand sewing as you complete a simple project - a tiny emoji! Leave with a beginner sewing kit as well!

Make Dinner at the Library
Tuesday, June 21 at 5:00 p.m.
Join the Food Explorers at the Library to make Four Fold Quesadillas! All ingredients will be provided. When done, enjoy dinner on the Library’s front lawn! Teens, bring along your parent or caregiver, if you would like!

Thursday, June 23 at 3:00 p.m.
Feeling crafty? Stop by the Library and satisfy those crafty cravings! A variety of materials will be available for you to use and create what you wish.

Ukulele Day
Saturday, June 25 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
​​Stop in and to learn to play different ukes and enjoy mini-concerts by Dave. Sponsored by the West Boylston Cultural Council. All ages and abilities welcome! Registration not required.
